An Octopad is a much sleeker version of an acoustic drum kit and an electric drum kit. It has pads to create sounds instead of the actual looking parts like the snare and toms. There are separate foot pedals to play the hi-hat and the bass drum kick. The sound for the Octopad is produced on a pair of headphones or speakers. Musicians choose to play the Octopad due to compatibility of this instrument and also the price advantage.
